Based in Mitchellville, MD (just minutes outside of the Nation’s Capital of Washington, D.C.), Good Googly Goo BBQ was founded by Head Pitmaster Norris “Syd” Sydnor in 2018. Starting as an Underground and Pop-Up BBQ food company, Good Googly Goo BBQ quickly developed a loyal following and fan base of delicious slow-cooked, wood-smoked, bbq meats (brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and chicken).
Always up for a challenge and the desire to be competitive, Pitmaster Syd decided to enter the food sport Competition BBQ arena by competing in KCBS sanctioned BBQ Contests. In 2019, Team Good Googly Goo BBQ began competing on the Master Series Level (Professional). We’ve earned a number of category Top 10 Finishes and a First Place Perfect 180 Pork Score (like bowling a perfect 300 game).
